Russia's Ambassador to the US Says He's Being Threatened with Violence
Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov stated that he, like some other employees of the diplomatic mission, has received threats.
The authors of these messages promise to commit physical violence against diplomats.
The head of the diplomatic mission shared his feeling that as the presidential elections approach, it is becoming increasingly difficult to work in the United States.
As proof of this, he cited “aggressive demonstrations with provocative slogans and insults” against the Russian leadership.
As well as threats to diplomats and the ambassador personally about physical violence, TASS agency quotes Antonov as saying.
He also drew attention to the fact that in the United States there has been a “tightening of the situation in the information field.”
This manifested itself in the fact, the ambassador explained, that “new and new restrictions are being introduced” in relation to his fellow journalists.
He calculated that “tens of thousands of sanctions are in effect.” And for any reason, Antonov pointed out.
