Alexander Lukashenko ordered to return to the program for the development of Polesie.
He reported this during a working visit to the Pinsk district of the Brest region.
The President recalled that at one time the country adopted a program for the revival of Polesia.
However, he pointed out that this is what happens with officials: “they move here and there and then finish” – they do something, but don’t do something else.
We need to return to this issue. And not scatter resources. I gave the government an order to concentrate on some major projects and direct resources there, the head of state's press service quotes him as saying.
He noted that the Polesie development program includes territories from Pinsk towards Mozyr.
But if the Mozyr region has the means and a powerful production base for its own development, then other Polesie regions need help.
As an example of how and what should be done, the Belarusian leader named the lands of the agricultural enterprise "Parokhonskoye", which he visited on October 4.
According to the President, a high level of management and development of the social sphere is visible here, and it is also “clean and beautiful.”
He instructed the authorized representative of the head of state in the Brest region, Mikhail Rusy, to oversee the issue.
If we put Polesie in order, we will feed the whole country only at Polesie's expense. Polesie cannot be abandoned, Lukashenko said.
