On October 12, the countries of the contact group on Ukraine will discuss lifting restrictions on strikes by the Ukrainian Armed Forces against the Russian Federation using Western weapons.
This information was announced by the Secretary General of the North Atlantic Alliance Mark Rutte on October 3 at a press conference in Kyiv.
The recording of the press conference was published by the NATO press service.
The NATO Secretary General reported that at the meeting on October 12, the countries of the contact group on Ukraine will focus on the issue of lifting restrictions on strikes against the Russian Federation.
He noted that each country supplying weapons to Ukraine decides for itself whether or not to allow their use in strikes against Russia.
The decision on restrictions on the supplied weapons is not made by NATO, the head of the organization said.
The last meeting of the contact group on Ukraine took place on September 6. The transfer of air defense systems to Ukraine was discussed there.
