The Kremlin has stated that Russian President Vladimir Putin and German Prime Minister Olaf Scholz have no topics for conversation.
Putin's press secretary Dmitry Peskov made this statement on October 2.
His words are quoted by TASS .
Yesterday, German media reported that the German Chancellor intends to call the Russian President ahead of the G20 summit in November.
Peskov said that Germany has not yet requested a conversation with Putin.
As such, there are no common themes on the surface, the Kremlin representative noted.
According to him, relations between Moscow and Berlin have been effectively reduced to zero.
Not on our initiative, ” added the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.
The last time Putin and Scholz spoke on the phone was in December 2022.
Since then, representatives of the German government and the German Chancellor himself have repeatedly stated the possibility of talking with the Russian president.
Scholz made his last such statement in June. Peskov then said that a conversation with the German Chancellor was not planned for now.
In early September, Scholz said it was time for negotiations on Ukraine.
