Lukashenko reported significant potential for relations between Belarus and Botswana

Alexander Lukashenko addressed his colleague from Botswana, Mokgweetsi Masisi, and congratulated him on the country’s Independence Day.

The message notes that this African state is currently distinguished by a high level of political stability and socio-economic development.

According to the Belarusian leader, as quoted by his press service , Gaborone's foreign policy approaches are close to Minsk's.

They are close because they are based on the principles of peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and non-interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states.

I am confident that Belarusian-Botswana relations have significant potential for expanding political dialogue and trade and economic cooperation, the congratulations say.

Lukashenko indicated Belarus' interest in establishing strong ties with Botswana in a number of areas, including agriculture, industry, petrochemicals, education, etc.

In addition, Minsk is ready to offer its experience in training Botswanans in areas that are key to the economy of their country, the President of Belarus noted.

He expressed hope that strengthening interstate cooperation will bring tangible results in the near future.

Alexander Lukashenko wished his colleague health, longevity and success, and the people of Botswana – peace and confidence in the future.
