According to former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, the presidential elections in the United States will determine the fate of the conflict in Ukraine.
The former Czech Prime Minister expressed this opinion in an interview with the British publication Financial Times.
The former head of the Czech government said that a victory in the US presidential election by Republican candidate Donald Trump would be a good outcome from the point of view of Europe's interests.
Babiš recalled that Trump promised to immediately end the war.
Let's be realistic: the US elections will determine the war in Ukraine, said the former Czech Prime Minister.
According to him, the main goal of the European Union in relation to the Ukrainian conflict should be to achieve peace.
The former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic noted that the countries of the European Union and the North Atlantic Alliance are not united on the issue of how to act in Ukraine.
He also said he intends to return to power following parliamentary elections scheduled for next year.
