Peskov named the reason for the increase in the size of the Russian army

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov named the reason for making this decision.
According to him, the increase in the number of servicemen of the Russian Armed Forces is due to the increased number of threats along the perimeter of Russia's borders.
As reported by MIA "Russia Today", Vladimir Putin's press secretary separately noted the hostile situation on the country's western borders that the Kremlin is recording.
In addition, Peskov noted, an unstable situation is being recorded on the eastern borders of the Russian Federation.
Let us recall that the day before, Vladimir Putin signed a decree increasing the staffing level of the Russian army to 2,389,130 people, including 1.5 million military personnel.
This is caused by the number of threats that exist for our country along the perimeter of our borders. This is caused by the extremely hostile situation on the western borders and instability on the eastern borders, so this requires taking appropriate measures, Peskov commented on the event.
