NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that lifting restrictions on Ukrainian Armed Forces launching strikes deep into Russia using Western weapons would not make NATO part of the conflict.

The head of the organization made this statement in an interview with Foreign Policy.

What Stoltenberg said about strikes deep into Russia

The NATO Secretary General stated that it is wrong to say that the alliance will become part of the conflict due to approval of strikes deep into Russia.

Stoltenberg noted that the alliance does not consider Iran and North Korea, which, according to him, provide military assistance to Russia, to be part of the conflict.

He also stated that NATO is closely monitoring Russia's nuclear posturing.

So far there have been no signs of change that could lead to changes in NATO, Stoltenberg said.

The head of the organization added that there can be no winners in a nuclear war.
