Belarusian customs have become more mobile and more accessible to businesses in the republic.
The head of the State Customs Committee, Vladimir Orlovsky, reported this to Alexander Lukashenko during his report.
The topic was raised in connection with the closure of a number of checkpoints on the border with the European Union.
Currently, only 5 automobile checkpoints are operating (previously – 26). Two checkpoints operate on the borders with Poland and Lithuania, one – with Latvia.
At the same time, at those checkpoints that are operating, according to official information from the Belarusian side, customs officers from neighboring countries are deliberately holding back cargo flows.
Orlovsky notes: the closure of checkpoints and the deliberate obstruction of the movement of Belarusian goods by neighboring countries has changed the situation at customs.
In this regard, we are changing our technologies and approaches. The most important thing is maximum support for our enterprises, we help change logistics to the East, - Belta quotes the head of the department.
He reported that logistics are now more complex and multi-stage.
We are restructuring our technologies so that we can clear cargo from any customs point where there is a free customs officer, added the head of the State Customs Committee.
These technologies are used on a permanent basis. And if necessary, cargo is processed at 24-hour points.
Customs has become more mobile and more accessible for our business,” said Orlovsky.
He also reported that this year the freight flow in the eastern direction has increased fourfold.
Based on this trend, customs officers have restructured their work and now quickly process cargo from any point.
The head of the State Customs Committee drew attention to the fact that there has been a substitution of sales markets, manufacturers of equipment, raw materials and components – they are now imported from friendly countries.
Therefore, logistics has been restructured, and we are restructuring in connection with this. Such work helps to fill the budget in full, he noted.
