The Kremlin admitted that the US has already lifted restrictions on strikes deep into Russia for the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
The corresponding statement was made on September 11 by the press secretary of the Russian president, Dmitry Peskov.
His words are quoted by MIA "Russia Today" .
Journalists asked the Kremlin representative to comment on Western media reports that US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, during his visit to Ukraine, may allow Kyiv to use American ATACMS missiles to strike Russia.
Most likely, of course, all these decisions have already been made, this can be assumed with a high degree of probability, said the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.
According to a Kremlin spokesman, the media is currently formalizing this decision.
He also stated that the Russian Federation’s response to the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ strikes deep into its territory with Western missiles will be appropriate.
There is no need to expect any answers everywhere. The SVO is the answer to all these actions, the Kremlin representative added.
According to him, every such decision made by the West and then attributed to Kyiv is further proof of the necessity, justification and lack of alternative to the SVO.
Yesterday, Blinken said that Washington does not rule out the possibility of allowing Kyiv to strike deep into Russia with ATACMS missiles.
On the same day, the coordinator of strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby, said that Washington still does not approve of strikes deep into Russia, despite US President Joseph Biden’s plans to discuss Ukraine’s use of Western long-range weapons with UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Axios journalist Juliegrace Brufke, citing Michael McCaul, chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, reported that Blinken will tell Kyiv during her visit to Ukraine that Washington will allow the use of ATACMS to strike Russia.
The Telegraph, citing sources in the UK government, reported that Biden may lift the ban on strikes against Russia by British Storm Shadow missiles. Washington's permission to use these missiles is necessary because they are used in tandem with American systems.
Biden himself stated that Washington is currently working on the issue of allowing Kyiv to strike deep into Russia with long-range weapons.
