Alexander Lukashenko made a statement regarding the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus.
According to him, they must complete the formation of the republic’s updated political system.
The President announced this at a meeting on Tuesday, September 10, as reported by the press service of the head of state.
By the way. The event was attended by the heads of the parliamentary chambers, the head of the Presidential Administration, the State Secretary of the Security Council, the chairmen of the Central Election Commission and the KGB.
These elections should complete the formation of a renewed political system for our state, Lukashenko said.
He noted that in this regard, “much has already been done,” in particular, the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly is working under its new constitutional status.
However, much remains to be done before and during the presidential elections, the head of state emphasized.
He recommended not to forget about preparing for the upcoming five-year period.
Elections are elections, we have held them more than once. And we will hold these ones. But we must really prepare for the next five years, the President advised.
Since the new five-year plan starts in 2026, he proposed holding the next All-Russian People's Congress at the beginning of 2025.
We must present people with a five-year strategy and determine the main directions of our development, the Belarusian leader explained.
