According to the minister, the Middle East is once again on the brink of a major regional war.

Our common responsibility is to prevent this from happening, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized.

He noted that the Middle East will not be able to develop stably without a resolution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Lavrov added that Russia is working to normalize the situation in the region with all parties.

Qatari Prime Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani spoke at a meeting about the need to introduce a ceasefire in Gaza.

According to him, this is a key factor for establishing lasting peace in the region.

Lavrov, who arrived in Riyadh the day before, has already held bilateral meetings with Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and GCC Secretary General Jassim al-Budaiwi.
