Alexander Lukashenko called on Belarusian deputies to “promote work at the international level.”

The President stated this while receiving a report from the head of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly, Igor Sergienko.

It is very important now to get going and accelerate work at the international level, the head of state’s press service quotes him as saying.

According to Lukashenko, people's diplomacy, which should be led by deputies, is extremely important today.

He notes that “it is having an effect,” which is evident, among other things, in the work of senators.

I think the House of Representatives should also act in this direction, the Belarusian leader advised.

He asked his interlocutor about the state of affairs in the camp of deputies on the issue of lawmaking.

I asked whether support was needed, given the fact that many deputies were elected for the first time and had no experience working in parliament.

The head of state also inquired about the work of the Council of the House of Representatives and how well the everyday issues of the deputies have been resolved.

How do the deputies live? We have a house built where the deputies live during work. Is there enough space for everyone to live? Are there any problems from an economic point of view? - the President asked Sergienko these questions.

He also asked how the Speaker of the House of Representatives himself evaluates the work of the people's representatives and how Sergienko is doing in his new position.
