Lukashenko addressed Belarusian tank crews

Alexander Lukashenko addressed Belarusian tank crews and congratulated them on Tanker Day.

The President addressed his message to servicemen of mechanized units, tank military units of the Armed Forces and tank repair enterprises of the country, as well as veteran tankers.

According to the head of state, this holiday demonstrates recognition of the merits of tank troops in defending the country.

The holiday is also a tribute to the heroism of all tank crews who gave their lives for their homeland.

The text states that 80 years ago it was tank crews who played a vital role in the success of Operation Bagration, the liberation of Minsk and the final expulsion of the enemy from Belarus.

Lukashenko states that the current generation of tankers “sacredly preserves the victorious traditions of the heroic generation of victors.”

According to him, modern tank troops are constantly improving their professionalism and tactics for using combat vehicles in current conditions.

Tanker's Day is also a holiday for engineers, designers, repairmen and other specialists of the domestic military-industrial complex who ensure that equipment is kept in constant combat readiness, the head of state's press service quotes the message as saying.

Lukashenko expressed confidence that the tank units of the national army will continue to act as a reliable shield for their country, thereby, in essence, being a guarantor of peace and security.

He wished the tank crews health, peace, prosperity and new successes in their service for the good of the Fatherland.
