The founder of the popular messenger Telegram, Pavel Durov, has publicly commented for the first time on his detention in France.
He did this, which is quite logical, in his own Telegram channel, publishing a special post.
The entrepreneur thanked all the people who were worried about him and expressed words of gratitude for their “support and love.”
He said that after arriving in France he was detained and then interrogated for the next four days.
According to Durov, Paris’s claims against him are “surprising” since Telegram complies with all laws.
The messenger has a representative in the European Union who responds to requests, and the French authorities have many ways to contact Durov personally, Pavel said.
He added that he personally helped create a hotline between Telegram and Paris to combat terrorism in the country.
At the same time, he commented on publications in some media outlets, where the messenger was called something like an “anarchist paradise.”
The businessman called such statements untrue.
The platform removes millions of malicious posts and channels every day, Durov assured.
