Russian President Vladimir Putin called the expulsion of the Ukrainian Armed Forces from Russian territory a sacred duty of the Russian Armed Forces.

The head of the Russian state made a corresponding statement on September 5 at the Eastern Economic Forum.

Answering a question about the situation in the SVO zone and border areas, the Russian President emphasized that it is the sacred duty of the Russian army to expel Ukrainian troops from border areas and reliably protect Russians.

He noted that Kyiv's goal was to stop the Russian offensive in Donbass, and stated that Kyiv had failed

According to Putin, Russian troops have stabilized the situation and are gradually pushing the Ukrainian Armed Forces out of the border area.
