The Kremlin has commented on the election promises of US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to end the conflict in Ukraine within 24 hours.

Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov expressed doubt that this is possible.

The Kremlin representative made the corresponding statement in an interview with the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin.”

The interview was published on the Telegram channel of journalist Pavel Zarubin.

I don’t think there is a magic wand, ” noted the press secretary of the head of the Russian state.

Peskov did not rule out that if the next US president declares in his inauguration speech that Washington is in favor of peace, stops providing military aid to Ukraine and calls for negotiations, then by the morning there will be a change in the minds in Kyiv.

One can imagine this hypothetically, but this is in the realm of fantasy, ” he added.

Trump has repeatedly promised to resolve the conflict in Ukraine if re-elected even before his inauguration.

The former US President also stated that immediately after winning the election, he would personally appeal to the Presidents of Ukraine and Russia, Vladimir Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, with a call to begin negotiations.
