What to do when you encounter a pack of stray dogs: just don't try to run away

A "homeless" pack of dogs often shows aggression, so you should not go for a walk in potentially dangerous places - wastelands, abandoned buildings, etc.

If you happen to “get caught in the crossfire” and become the target of an attack by such a pack, you should take a place where your back is covered so that the animals cannot go around you and attack from behind.

Try to block approaches to yourself: this can be done with the help of, for example, large branches, boxes, or even your bag - take it off your shoulder and hold it in front of you.

Don't try to fake an attack - this will only provoke stray animals.

Instead, try to show with your whole appearance that you are not scared, not trying to escape, but intend to defend yourself.

You shouldn't look dogs in the eyes, especially the most aggressive ones - this is a sign that you are ready to fight.

Remain calm and only react if the animals approach you. Make it clear that you are not attacking, but simply defending yourself.

These situations do not last for hours: once the dogs understand that you are not dangerous to them, do not attack and do not intend to enter their territory, they will lose interest in you. When this happens, you can leave the territory.

The biggest mistake you can make is trying to run away, because a running person is potential prey for a pack of dogs. Remember: a person walking on two legs cannot run away from a healthy dog on four legs.
