Can you feed your cat different foods: most owners don't even know which answer is correct

Before giving a detailed answer to the question of whether it is possible to feed a cat food from different manufacturers, it is worth remembering that all of them were created in order to become the only source of nutrients for pets.

This is indicated by the “Complete” mark, which can usually be seen on the packaging of dry food.

So why add anything else to a complete diet? In fact, pet owners have several reasons for doing so.

There is no way to buy the same dry food

Due to the instability of the assortment in the nearest pet store, our pets have to eat different foods. In this case, we can talk, rather, not about mixing, but about alternating products.

The danger is that the cat may develop digestive disorders due to the different composition of the food. Over time, this may lead to a deficiency of some elements in the pet's body.

The desire to improve low-quality feed by making it more expensive

If you are trying to save money by adding expensive, meat-heavy food to your cheap grain-based food, it's time to stop.

Each complete feed has its own balanced formula, which is distinguished by a unique composition and ratio of components. When mixed, some ingredients may be less digestible, the cat may experience a deficiency in them or, conversely, an excess, as a result of which the consequences can be most unpredictable.

The best solution is to avoid food with a high grain content. In order for the cat to eat enough, it needs more of this food, and in the end, you may end up spending even more money on cheap food than on expensive food.

Desire to provide your pet with variety

Cats value animal protein and fat content in their food, not novelty, so most animals can happily eat the same flavored food for years.
