What to do with an aggressive and jealous cat: scolding is definitely not worth it

If you have another pet or a new addition to your family (whether it's a baby or a new family member), your cat may respond to these changes by acting jealous and aggressive.

Of course, there is no point in punishing the animal – it is already experiencing stress.

Instead, try to spend more time with the abused cat, at least as much as you would with a new pet or family member.

What else should you not do? Don't scold, don't yell, don't pick up the cat by the scruff of the neck, and don't splash water on it.

Of course, you can't use physical violence against her. If the cat scratches you or hisses and bites, sternly say "no" or "scat", clap your hands or shout "ow!" This is usually enough to stop the pet.

But when we say that you shouldn't overdo it with prohibitions, this doesn't mean that you should let your pet climb wherever he wants. Put all valuable and fragile items in places that are inaccessible to him - cabinets or drawers.

In general, put away all things, including clothes and shoes. This will help you avoid unnecessary reasons to be angry with the cat for taking cosmetics from your bag, leaving a cloud of fur on your pants, or throwing utility bills off the table.

Talk to your pet, discuss your problems at work with him – often a pet’s bad behavior is associated with a lack of communication.

Finally, make sure to find time for play. Spending time together has a positive effect on the cat's physical and emotional state.

Earlier we talked about why a dog barks at its reflection in the mirror.
