A familiar situation is when the owner goes to the bathroom or closes the bedroom door before going to bed, leaving the cat outside.

The pet may meow under the doors for a long time or start scratching the doors. According to scientists, the animal does not do this out of spite. The reasons are simple and clear.

It turns out that cats and kittens at this time are driven by fear, instinct or boredom.

On the one hand, they are afraid of being left alone, but on the other hand, they feel like the master of “their” territory.

First of all, fear

The researchers concluded that the animal may be alarmed, frightened. The reason may be sounds that animals hear due to their more universal hearing.

They may feel threatened and will ask to see their owner or try to warn them of trouble.

Secondly, the territory

In the cat's understanding, your apartment is its habitat. In fact, it is the cat's property.

The pet considers it important for itself to inspect the property and have free access to all secluded or favorite places at a time convenient for it.

Thirdly, boredom

It is possible that the cat simply suddenly becomes bored.

And don't expect that after you open the door, the pet will enter the room. It happens that the cat sits in front of the open door, and then goes in the opposite direction.

Experts believe that the gesture should be seen as an invitation for the animal to be in its company.
