No one will argue that the appearance of a kitten in the house is a joyful, but at the same time responsible decision.

If you want this event to go off without a hitch, and the following days spent with the new family member to be just as cloudless, it is important to follow a number of rules.

1. Before bringing a meowing lump into the house, you should prepare all the necessary conditions for its comfortable living.

In addition to buying bowls and trays, you should think about such important things as litter, food, malt paste and a furminator. Don't forget to also check your house or apartment for safety for your pet. For example, pay attention to wires that may be accessible to the animal and pose a threat to its health and even life. The pet can chew the wire and get an electric shock, which is very dangerous.

2. During the first few days of your baby's stay in the house, you may need to temporarily remove all decorative rugs.

This will help avoid unpleasant surprises associated with the fact that the kitten may not immediately understand where its toilet is. To protect the flooring from possible contamination, use special diapers for animals. They will help keep your home clean and tidy.

3. Before you get a kitten, make sure that your home does not contain poisonous plants, small objects, threads and household chemicals that could pose a danger to your pet.

4. If you have children, be sure to tell them that a kitten is a fragile and vulnerable creature that requires careful handling.

Explain to them that they should not hurt the kitten, as this may negatively affect its health and behavior.

5. When you bring the kitten home, do not rush to immediately release it from the carrier and, especially, do not forcibly pull the animal out.

Instead, place the carrier in a comfortable location and give your kitten time to calmly sniff the new area and get used to it.

6. Getting a cat is a big responsibility, because you need to take care of it and monitor its health. It is necessary to deworm the cat regularly (a vet will help with the schedule).

7. It is important to remember about vaccinations: they must be done even for those cats that do not go outside. The first vaccination is done at the age of 7-9 weeks, and then repeated annually.

8. Finally, remember that spaying and neutering can often prevent problems such as aggression, anxiety, and other unwanted behaviors, as well as improve your pet's overall quality of life and prolong his years.
