Why does a cat follow its owner around: the reasons are varied

Each cat has its own behavioral characteristics: some need the constant presence of their owner, some do not tolerate affection and “hugs,” and some do not leave “their” person’s side for a single step.

Let's find out why some pets literally follow their owner around.

1. Security

If a cat senses a possible danger for itself, it is more comfortable to stay close to a person, whom in this case the animal perceives as a guarantor of its safety. This behavior is especially common when moving to a new place of residence, where the cat's surroundings are unfamiliar.

2. Mother cat

When you have to deal with a kitten that has recently been weaned, it is not surprising that you take on this role - the baby will follow you as if you were its mother.

3. Attention

While other cats try to attract attention by attacking a person, throwing his things on the floor and using other “hooligan” methods, some animals, distinguished by restraint and devotion, will follow their owner until he gives them a minute of his time.

4. Boredom

Finally, if you have been away for a long time, stalking is the cat's attempt to make up for lost time. It is unlikely that the cat needs anything in return - it simply enjoys the presence of its loved one.
