During winter walks, the dog owner must monitor the pet's behavior to prevent hypothermia.
This is fraught with illness and, of course, expenses for a visit to the veterinarian and the purchase of medications.
Experts have revealed the main signs that a dog has started to freeze during a walk in winter.
The dog may tuck its paws in. At the same time, it may whine pitifully and immediately ask to go home after it has done its business.
Visible trembling may occur. In such cases, the fur will stand on end, the tail will be tucked in. Small breed dogs may even lie down on the ground.
The dog may start acting up at the first sign that he is going to be taken outside. This happens if the dog got cold during the last walk.
In any case, you need to return home and not try to persuade the dog to continue the walk.
At home, you need to help the dog warm up, give it warm water and food.
If the situation repeats itself, then it will not be possible to continue walking in winter without a jumpsuit.
If the dog's body temperature is below 36 degrees, it can be considered severe hypothermia. After the animal has warmed up, it should be shown to the veterinarian.
