How to Make Friends with a Cat and a Carrier: Tips to Make Your Life Easier

Not all cats are willing to climb into a carrier and stay inside for as long as it takes to “transport” them to their destination.

That is why we decided to tell you how you can help your pet get used to this accessory that is so necessary in their life.

First of all, let's note: the sooner you start trying to introduce your cat to the carrier, the easier the process will be. If we are talking about training an adult cat, then in this case you will need a little more time, effort and, of course, patience.

So, as soon as you bring a new thing into the house, leave it on the floor of the room in the open.

Make sure that your pet's favorite toy is inside. Over time, the cat will realize that this thing does not pose any danger to it, because it smells like home.

Remember: do not open the carrier during the trip, so as not to expose your pet to danger. If necessary, just open the door slightly so that you can pet the cat.

If possible, place the carrier so that the animal can see you. Put the same favorite toy inside.

If your cat doesn’t want to put up with being moved around in a carrier and is restless, consult a veterinarian – he will help you choose the right sedatives for your animal.
