Got a second cat in your apartment? Here's a simple way to make it friends with your first pet

If there is a cat in the house, it is a great joy for a person.

A pet makes its owner happy and improves his mood.

Therefore, it is not surprising that many people have a desire to have another furry friend.

However, the first pet may react negatively to the appearance of a “competitor”.

And there is nothing surprising about this: the cat probably considers the entire space of the apartment to be its territory and is not eager to share it with anyone.

In such conditions, a “newbie” who is not prepared for competition faces serious stress.

However, two cats can be made friends. To do this, the owner must protect the second pet.

What needs to be done

A separate room needs to be allocated for the new four-legged friend, MOS SMI reports.

The room must be closed so that the first cat cannot get in.

As a result, the adaptation period will not be stressful for the second animal. The pet will gradually get used to the new environment and new smells.

The first cat will also begin to understand that there is someone else in the apartment. When the animals meet, they will not be enemies.

If the preparatory period is carried out correctly, two cats will get along quite well in one apartment, dividing it into “their” areas, and, most likely, will even become friends.
