Everyone knows that dogs and cats are not in the closest relationship, but why the animals conflict is unclear.
Cats do not show joy at the sight of dogs. It would seem that everything is obvious – nature. But scientists have a different point of view. Here is how things stand in theory and in practice.
Characters
These are representatives of different families. Canines or wolves are by nature active, friendly and inquisitive. They are not only hunters, but also explorers.
With cats, it's different. They are indifferent and withdrawn, preferring a secretive and solitary way of life. Hence the collisions.
Genetics
The ancestors of these domestic animals were predators in the past and perceived some animals as prey.
And if we compare a wolf and a lynx, then in natural conditions they are already competitors in hunting.
Chemistry
Cats secrete enzymes that dogs react aggressively to. If pets are together from birth, they get used to these substances. Without habit, nature takes its toll.
Emotions
Due to a misunderstanding of the signals that animals send to each other during a meeting - cats arch their backs, and dogs sniff or bark - a conflict may occur.
Moreover, experience does not allow animals to get along unless the cat and dog are raised together from birth.
