All living beings express emotions, but each one does it in its own way. They say that cats can cry too – who doesn’t know the popular expression “a cat cried a little?”

But to understand the suffering of a pet, it is not necessary to make it cry. We will tell you how, when and for what reason animals can express their grievances.

Cat's Tears

You can talk about grievances after the animal has experienced stress. The most popular reasons are: moving to a new place of residence, grievance or pain, feeling of hunger.

It is believed that animals left without an owner and a home can cry.

What Science Says

There is no scientific evidence in this regard. Research has failed to confirm a link between cat tears and nervousness.

While it is generally accepted that cats do not cry because of emotions, this possibility is not completely ruled out.

Possible reasons

1. The appearance of tears in the eyes can be a consequence of diseases that occur in a latent form.

2. Most often, cats “cry” during adolescence, when the animal’s head increases in size, and with it the tear ducts.

3. It is believed that breeds such as Persians, Scots and British cats simply cannot help but cry due to the peculiarities of the structure of the flat muzzle, nose and the location of the eyes.

However, all this does not indicate resentment. If the pet has something against the owner, then it will begin to avoid him, hide in closets, meow at night, howling bizarrely, and also refuse to meet the owner at the door.
