Does Your Cat Have 'Whisker Tired Syndrome': Here's How to Check

It may come as a surprise, but cats often suffer from something called "whisker fatigue syndrome."

Today we will tell you what can make a cat’s whiskers get tired.

Before we begin the story, it is worth remembering that cats' whiskers are an organ that is hypersensitive. They work like antennas, continuously transmitting signals to the brain and nervous system.

Now let's simulate a situation: every day a cat has to "get" food for itself from a deep and at the same time narrow bowl.

Because of such inconveniences, the pet's whiskers will inevitably come into contact with the walls of the plate, sending a lot of signals to the brain and nervous system and thereby causing discomfort.

If this phenomenon is of a permanent nature – that is, the cat has to touch something (in this case, the bowl) day after day, it will inevitably end in stress.

In particularly severe cases, when the owner does nothing, the animal may refuse to eat at all.

Therefore, if you notice that your pet takes food out of the bowl to eat it on the floor, is restless during “breakfasts” and “dinners,” wanders around the plate for a long time, not daring to start eating, you should help him as soon as possible by replacing the dishes with suitable ones.

Let us remember: everything said above also applies to water bowls.
