What Domestic Cats Never Learned: Research Results

The cat has gone through a long process of domestication, but during this time the animal was unable to suppress all of its wild instincts.

In the course of painstaking research, scientists have discovered what cats have never been able to learn throughout their entire domestic history.

It has been proven that, like dogs, cats can also feel bored, experience anxiety, and react to the owner’s voice, but some things are alien to these animals.

Japanese scientists have published the results of a study which shows that, unlike a dog, a cat will not feel hostility towards a person who has refused to help its owner.

Three people were involved in the experiment. One of them was the owner of the animal, and the other two were random people.

The owner of the animal asked one of the strangers for help in opening the box. The pet was present. One of them refused to help, the second helped.

It was then decided to check which of these two people the animal would go to if they offered food.

It has been proven that in such a situation the dog will not go to the ill-wisher.

But the cat didn't care in this regard. The experimental subject went for food with equal eagerness to both the assistant and the deceiver.

But scientists are in no hurry to finally accuse cats of selfishness.

This is because the conclusions of the research results are made from a human point of view.

To understand the true nature of these animals' behavior, you need to look at the world through their eyes.
