Many dogs are reluctant to go outside on rainy days.

And the problem is not only that pets are afraid of getting wet and cold.

There are even more unpleasant consequences of precipitation for four-legged friends.

The fact is that rain has an indirect negative effect on dogs’ hearing, vision and sense of smell.

Unpleasant sounds

Dogs have very good hearing. Unlike humans, pets can even perceive ultrasound.

That is why the falling of drops is accompanied by a very loud and unpleasant sound for our four-legged friends.

It's hard to see things

When it rains, the sky is usually covered with clouds. This means that it is not very light outside.

According to one version, in such conditions, pets cannot normally examine the surrounding space.

Extra odors

Dogs not only have good hearing. Our four-legged friends can also “boast” of the ability to distinguish a huge number of scents.

And during the rain, a good sense of smell plays a cruel joke on pets: they begin to smell very strong odors. Unfortunately, the latter are not always pleasant.

All of the above reasons can make dogs refuse to go for a walk. Dogs are not so afraid of getting wet. They are much more afraid of the strain on their senses.
