Dog owners often witness their pet tilting its head to the side.

What's surprising is that no one has a clear answer to the question of why Tuziks and Rexes do this.

There are, however, several quite logical theories that explain this behavior of our four-legged friends.

Thus, some dog handlers and biologists believe that by bowing its head, the animal expresses its interest, curiosity and, possibly, misunderstanding of what is happening.

In addition, the researchers suggested that this is a way for a dog to express its affection.

The dog was also observed tilting its head in an attempt to get a better look at something.

Since this behavior is typically seen in dogs with long muzzles, they may tilt their heads to allow their nose to get in the way of their view of what is going on.

Finally, dogs tilt their heads, changing the position of their skull in space, to better hear certain sounds.
