A dog is a true friend of man. It often shows its love and joy by jumping, barking and licking its owner.

But licking the owner is not the best habit, even harmful, so the dog should be weaned from it.

The fact is that licking is a rather unhygienic procedure through which various diseases and infections can be transmitted.

Dogs are related to wolves and coyotes. In these packs of wild animals, it is common to lick the leader, so dogs have a similar natural instinct.

A dog licks itself when it sees its owner as the boss or when it simply likes the “taste” of your skin.

It is from an early age that the animal should be properly educated. Licking should be prohibited on a permanent basis, but the main thing is to do it calmly and without aggression.

To distract the animal from licking, you can offer it its favorite treats or play with it, devoting time to your pet.

During a walk, you can physically exercise your dog - this will also help distract it and wean it off its bad habit.

But it is more difficult to wean an adult dog. If you cannot cope with this problem on your own, then it is better to contact specialists who will help with this.
