Animals, like people, have their own anxieties and fears.

There are also things that cats are very afraid of.

These are innate phobias that animals do not easily get rid of.

What are cats afraid of and how can you calm their nervous system?

1. Water.

Some owners can firmly assert that their cat or cat loves to bathe in the bathtub. But there are such individuals who have a panic fear of water.

Although they drink it with pleasure and can even dip their paw in it. And to bathe, it will become a real stressful situation for the animal. And in this action they feel vulnerable.

An animal may develop a phobia because it was once caught in a downpour or fell into an open body of water. To protect the animal from further stress, it needs to be taught to swim in stages.

To do this, the owner needs to show maximum patience and endurance. And at first, this should be done in a shallow container and with a small amount of water. When the animal gets used to the water, then it will stop reacting so violently to the bathing process itself.

2. Change in everyday life.

Cats are quite happy with routine and ordinary life. They do not tolerate any changes. Living by habits is a favorite rule of pets. If the daily routine changes, such a change causes anxiety in the cat.

The reason for this will be a change of residence, the appearance of a new family member or rearrangement of furniture. And if the cat is overcome by fear, it begins to show all its anxiety. It is recommended to calm the animal with gentle stroking.

3. Other animals in the apartment.

Cats are animals that "mark" their territory with their own scent. If another animal appears in their space, they begin to react violently to it.

Cats also get along with dogs and animals such as squirrels or raccoons. They can show their negative reaction in various ways: hissing, biting and running away.

If a cat believes that there is a huge danger in front of it, it will attack first. The owner must demonstrate with his own behavior to his pet that there is no safety. And if the cat trusts him, it will quickly calm down.

4. A stranger.

Cats are freedom-loving animals that do not tolerate encroachment on their territory, but they value independence very much. And they prefer to be alone.

If a new person enters their territory, cats become afraid. Their fear only increases if the stranger approaches them or behaves aggressively towards them.

5. Loud sounds.

Cats are very afraid of thunder, thunderstorm sounds, working tools and fireworks. This list includes household appliances that scare with loud sounds.

Because of the animals' sensitive hearing, sounds are amplified even more and become unpleasant for them. Fear instills fear in the animal, so it begins to behave even aggressively.

Fears and anxieties are common to all animals. But to protect your pet from another stress, you can not only prepare it for the arrival of new people or a change of residence, but also calm it down in time.

Gentle stroking and the calm voice of the owner will certainly dispel all of the purr's fears.
