Psychologist Stanley Root decided to find out which pets can be called the stupidest.
His study involved 80 dog breeds, which the scientist classified into three types of intelligence: instinctive, adaptive and working.
It is the last type of intelligence, the working one, that is responsible for the ability to understand instructions and learn, on the basis of which it was possible to derive the TOP of the most “stupid” breeds, that is, those who are the worst at learning.
Third place in this ranking was taken by dogs of the English Bulldog breed, who do not want to obey and follow commands.
You can only train such a pet with a strict and regular schedule. You will need to be patient and consistent in training.
The silver went to the Basenji, a hunting dog native to Africa. These dogs are distinguished by their lack of a distinctive bark, a “cat-like” character, and an inability to learn.
Any attempt to train a Basenji, even in exchange for treats, usually ends in failure.
First place goes to Afghan hounds. These pets are self-confident and calm and will never want to, for example, jump through a hoop. Teaching your pet the simplest commands will take a lot of time and effort.
