Where you can't pet a dog: even the owner is not allowed

Petting is an action that your pet usually enjoys.

However, touching is not always pleasant for a pet - in some places it is not worth touching.

So, try to get rid of the habit (if you have one, of course) of petting the dog on the head. Due to the abundance of nerve endings, touching can be felt by the animal as painful.

However, this rule does not apply to light stroking behind the ears and on the neck.

If we talk about the back, then your pet will certainly appreciate encouraging stroking on the sides, while the sacrum and withers area are prohibited.

Perhaps the most vulnerable place in a dog is the belly. Only close people are allowed to touch this place.

You can lightly run your hand over the top.

But such a sensitive area of the whiskers as the chin is forbidden to touch. However, do not forget that each pet is unique, so your pet may happily expose its belly and even tail to you - if only you would stroke it.
