Let's imagine a situation: you are applying for a job and want to immediately please the HR specialist and future manager.
Or you just met an important person who may be of great help to you in the future.
Or you are talking to that member of the opposite sex with whom you dream of creating a couple.
How to instantly create a positive opinion about yourself? There is a very interesting psychological technique.
The trick is simple: try to “mirror” the body language of the person you are talking to.
For example, your interlocutor folded his hands or touched his chin. Do the same.
Copy the pose and facial expressions, repeat some lines.
The answer is simple: every person experiences unconscious sympathy for someone who is similar to him. And we are not only talking about similarities in appearance. We are also talking about the manner of communication, gestures, facial expressions, etc.
But don't overdo it. You don't need to copy absolutely every move your interlocutor makes.
If a person realizes that you are deliberately "mirroring" him, he may perceive what is happening as ridicule or parody. And this is fraught with resentment or anger on the part of the vis-à-vis.
