How to Light a Fire Quickly: Swedish Technology

Some people really enjoy spending a lot of time at the grill trying to start a fire.

However, if you want to relax and not fiddle with firewood, try using Swedish technology to make a fire. This method is also known as a "Swedish candle" or "Swedish torch".

There is nothing complicated about it, and, on top of that, the fire will burn for a long time.

To make a fire using this method, you will need one large log (preferably coniferous), kindling, paper and small twigs.

First, place the log on the ground and use an axe or chainsaw to make four cuts across the top of the log, crosswise, like cutting a pie. Don't cut the log all the way through: instead, leave about 20 cm from the ground. If this option doesn't work for you, you can make a wide hole in the log from the cut side (not all the way through).

Then, in the gap formed between the cuts, you should place brushwood, branches or chips, as well as some paper. You can also use corn chips like nachos - they really help to light the fire faster.

Sprinkle a small amount of lighter fluid on top and light the structure on fire.

As a result, you will be able to make a fire that will burn for a long time. Unlike the "classic" version of a fire, you will not have to constantly feed this fire.

Earlier we talked about why bees die after stinging a person.
