There are many words in the Russian language that are difficult to explain to foreigners.
One of these words is the word "high".
It comes from the Arabic word "kayf", which means pleasant idleness.
The thing is that the Russian word “kaif” has a very broad meaning.
It can mean bliss, euphoria, joy that something worked out, and just a good mood.
There is no exact equivalent of the word "high" in other languages. In German, there is the word Kaif (also borrowed from Arabic), but it means euphoria during drug intoxication.
In French there is a word kief, but there too the emphasis is on a certain state when using illegal substances.
Earlier we talked about what active listening is.
