A twitching eye is not just a funny cartoon episode. It is a clear signal from the body about an invisible problem.
The eye twitches when a person is under stress or works a lot. The eyelid starts twitching due to exhaustion of the nerves and muscles.
But it is worth understanding that it is not the eye itself that twitches, but the eyelid, or more precisely, a spontaneous contraction of the eye muscles occurs.
Most people experience twitching of the lower eyelid. In rare cases, the tic affects the upper eyelid.
The twitching of the eyelids itself does not pose a health threat. But if we consider the problem as a signal from the body, then the tic indicates a serious problem.
The problem is not only of a nervous nature.
This may be due to eye irritation, fatigue from reading or other eye strain.
Lack of sleep, stress and fatigue are also to blame.
We must not forget about the side effects of taking medications, drinking alcohol, caffeine and even smoking.
To get rid of a tic, you need to eliminate the reasons for its appearance. And when it starts, you should not rub your eyes, which only worsens the problem.
Previously we talked about what chronic fatigue syndrome is.
