Good news for Minsk motorists came from the capital's mayor's office.

They reported that next year the city will significantly increase the number of paid parking spaces.

It is planned to equip about 3,300 such places and, accordingly, bring the total number to 10 thousand.

This was reported by the Minsk-Novosti agency with reference to the statement of the general director of the State Enterprise “Garages, Parking Lots and Parking Lots” Andrei Zyryanov.

He reportedly voiced this information at a meeting of the commission on road safety under the leadership of the head of the Minsk City Executive Committee Vladimir Kukharev.

The mayor, by the way, noted that today in the capital there are parking lots “that are not properly used.”

According to Zyryanov, paid parking for cars is being developed in five stages.

The first stage covers the area bounded by Independence Avenue and Nemiga, Lenin, and Gorodskoy Val streets.

The second stage – Nemiga, Voldarsky, Sverdlova, Ulyanovskaya, Engelsa streets.

Both of these stages, according to the CEO, have been completed 100%. Work on the others is currently ongoing.

According to his information, there are currently 5,600 parking spaces in paid parking lots in Minsk.

In the near future, it is expected that the figure will increase to no less than 6,700 places.

At each relevant facility, road markings are applied, and signs and plates with additional information are installed.

Various elements to ensure the safety of vehicle and pedestrian traffic (islands, posts, etc.) are also installed.
