On Wednesday, September 25, the State Traffic Inspectorate’s “Stop – Parking” campaign started in the Belarusian capital.

The preventive event will last for two days – today and tomorrow, September 26 (Thursday).

Its goal, as reported by the press service of the Minsk State Automobile Inspectorate on its official Telegram channel, is to draw public attention to the problem of “the misuse of parking spaces intended for the disabled.”

On the specified days, State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers will conduct raids in the capital.

The agency explains: this concerns monitoring compliance with the rules for stopping and parking vehicles in places designated for disabled people.

These are usually located near administrative buildings, shopping centers and social facilities.

During these events, tow trucks will be used, law enforcement officials noted.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded that disabled persons of groups I and II, as well as persons transporting them, have the right to park their cars in places marked with sign 7.17.

Disabled persons of the third group, as well as the persons transporting them, have this right (as well as the right to use the corresponding sticker) if the disabled person has musculoskeletal disorders.

The agency also pointed out that sign 7.17 with road sign 5.15 “Parking space” informs that the parking lot or part of it is reserved for parking cars with the “Disabled” sign.
