A resident of the Moscow district of Minsk believed telephone scammers and gave a courier $7,000 for saving her daughter, who allegedly caused a traffic accident.

The capital's criminal investigation department operatives found out that the money was taken by an 18-year-old student of a capital university.

Having handed over the money to the middleman, the guy left the capital to fulfill the next order, but was detained by the traffic police officers of the Borisov District Department of Internal Affairs.

The young man found an illegal part-time job in a messenger. The guy was told that he would need to help citizens with currency exchange.

The student was convinced in every possible way that this kind of part-time work was legal – in the end, he agreed, the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs reported.

A criminal case has been opened on this fact. The police remind: the couriers of the fraudsters, along with other participants in criminal schemes, bear criminal liability and are obliged to compensate for the damage.
