A Minsk resident decided to buy an electric car with delivery from abroad, ran into scammers and lost more than 33,000 rubles.

The press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported this on Telegram.

How a Minsk resident lost 33,000 rubles

A 48-year-old man who became a victim of fraud when purchasing an electric car contacted the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk.

The applicant found an ad in a messenger about the sale of electric cars from China and South Korea and left a request.

After talking to the manager, the man decided to buy the car. According to the terms of the contract, he had to make an advance payment of 70% of the cost of the goods.

To protect himself, the Minsk resident asked for the contact information of a client who had already purchased a car from the organization.

After communicating with the alleged owner of the electric car, the man transferred more than 33,000 rubles to the scammers.

The car was supposed to be delivered in 7-10 days. After this period, the managers stopped communicating.

The Minsk resident realized that he had been deceived and contacted the police. A criminal case of fraud was opened.

The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee calls on citizens to be vigilant when making purchases on the Internet. If you are not sure of the authenticity of the site and the reliability of the seller, it is better to refuse the purchase.
