A resident of Minsk tried to buy an electric car online. No luck – she never saw the car, but lost 45,000 rubles.

The whole point is that the buyer trusted the scammers without realizing the deception in time.

Only after she realized that she had become a victim of a scam did she contact the Pervomaysky District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital.

As the Minsk police press service reported on its official Telegram channel, the woman found an account on one of the social networks.

There they promised to deliver an electric car from China at a favorable price.

Moreover, during personal correspondence, the woman was shown the documents for the car and the corresponding photographs.

They asked for an advance payment. The trusting buyer transferred over 45,000 rubles to the account specified by the scammers.

After receiving the money, the intermediary in purchasing the new car stopped communicating, and the woman contacted the police, law enforcement officials noted.

A criminal case has been opened on the fact of fraud.

The police reminded Belarusians: the price of a truly high-quality product cannot be several times lower than the market price.

Law enforcement officials also strongly recommend that citizens do not agree to make an advance payment; they advise paying only upon receipt of the goods.
