A Minsk resident found a box with $3,000 in the yard, kept it for herself and became a defendant in a criminal case.

A resident of the district turned to the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk for help.
The man forgot a box with $3,000 and a passport in the yard. When the Minsk resident returned, the box was no longer in the yard.
Criminal investigation officers found out that she was taken by a 53-year-old Minsk resident.
The woman threw away the passport and spent part of the money on personal needs. The remaining money was confiscated and will be returned to the owner.
A criminal case has been opened against the Minsk resident under the article “Theft”.
The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reminds: property temporarily left unattended by the owner (lost, forgotten) is considered to be in his possession. Taking possession of such property is classified as theft.
