In Minsk, a 15-year-old schoolboy gave $53,000 to a courier of telephone scammers.
The press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported this on Telegram.
A resident of the Frunzensky district of Minsk contacted the police with a statement about the theft of savings from her home safe.
It was established that the safe was broken into by the applicant's 15-year-old son. He gave the savings to a courier for telephone scammers
The scammers convinced the teenager that a criminal case had been opened against his parents and demanded a large sum of money.
Following the instructions of the fraudsters, the schoolboy bought a power tool, used it to open the safe and handed over the valuables (money, gold and silver bars) to the courier.
The courier was detained, he turned out to be a 29-year-old Minsk resident. It turned out that he divided the valuables into two parts and gave them to two other couriers - a 44-year-old resident of the Mogilev region and a 55-year-old Minsk resident.
They were also detained, but they managed to pass the money on further along the criminal chain. An investigation is underway.
