In Minsk, a car hit a teenager at a pedestrian crossing

On Saturday, November 2, a traffic accident occurred on Shirokaya Street in the Belarusian capital.

A car hit a minor road user who was using a personal mobility device.

The teenager was taken to a medical facility.

This was reported on the Telegram channel of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate of the Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee.

According to preliminary information, the 16-year-old pedestrian was hit yesterday at approximately 2:50 p.m.

The Toyota, driven by a 44-year-old citizen, was moving along Shiroka Street.

At the intersection with Vostochnaya Street, the driver ignored the red traffic light.

The driver continued driving, causing him to hit the teenager.

The young man was crossing the road at the SPM crossing. The pedestrian traffic light was green.

After the incident, the teenager was taken to a medical facility for examination.

Representatives of the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate Department of the Soviet District Department of Internal Affairs of the capital of Belarus were working at the scene of the accident.

The State Traffic Inspectorate has called on motorists to remain attentive.

The State Traffic Inspectorate reminded: a red traffic light is a prohibitory signal. And also: before driving through an intersection with traffic lights, the driver must slow down in advance and prepare for a possible stop.
