How a Minsk resident lost 3,500 euros

A 37-year-old woman contacted the capital's police after agreeing to help her online lover and losing 13,000 rubles.

The applicant met "Stephen Hood from Texas" on a social network. The man said that he was a peacekeeper, was in Syria, and had not been on vacation for 6 years.

Later, the “American” confessed his love to the Minsk woman and promised to come, but problems arose with this.

The woman agreed to help and wrote an e-mail to the “peacekeeper’s” management with a letter of guarantee and also transferred 3,500 euros for a “certificate for receiving long-term leave.”

To do this, the Minsk resident took out loans from two banks, supposedly for repairs.

After the money was transferred, the "American" stopped communicating. An investigation is underway into this incident.
