Cybercriminals tricked a Minsk resident out of 300 rubles by posing as his friend.
The press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported this on Telegram.
A 35-year-old man who became a victim of cyber fraud contacted the Moscow District Department of Internal Affairs of Minsk.
The applicant received a voice message in a messenger from a friend's account asking to lend 300 rubles.
Not suspecting a scam, the man transferred the money. Soon the "friend" sent another message asking to transfer another 500 rubles.
A Minsk resident doubted whether he was really communicating with a friend and called him. The friend reported that his account had been hacked. A criminal case was opened on this fact.
The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee calls on citizens to be careful when communicating on social networks and to take measures to protect accounts from hacking.
